Statement of Purpose

Operating within the Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous, the purpose of Bluegrass Roundup, Inc. is to establish, organize, and maintain a committee of people committed to the preservation of a gay and lesbian recovery weekend located in Kentucky, and to carry the message of Service, Recovery, and Unity to the Alcoholic and Al-Anon that still suffers. Our function is not to isolate or separate ourselves from the mainstream of AA/Al-Anon, but rather to provide our experience, strength and hope to ANY arm of AA/Al-Anon when called upon to do so, and to work in the spirit of Unity and Service with AA/Al-Anon for the betterment of the gay and lesbian members of AA/Al-Anon as a whole. This recovery weekend shall be known as the Bluegrass Roundup.

Our History

Bluegrass Roundup, Inc. was originally founded in 1995, and hosted roundups in 1995 and 1996 before going dormant. It is the intent of the current host committee to revitalize this weekend of recovery for the benefit of all gay and lesbians who desire a better way of life.
